Our client, a reputable accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team in Toronto. Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in managing clients’ monthly accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, government remittances, payroll, and more.
- Collaborate with accountants to prepare clients’ year-end financial statements and ensure accurate reporting.
- Conduct client meetings, assist with bookkeeping system setups, and provide training on software usage.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their development and growth.
- Full-time, permanent position with the option for flexible work arrangements (in-office, hybrid, or remote).
- Paid overtime may be required during busy seasons, including evenings and weekends.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Strong payroll experience is a plus.
- Proficient in designing and implementing new processes and workflows to improve client services.
- Familiar with major bookkeeping software, including QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, Xero, and other cloud-based accounting tools (certifications are a plus).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both clients and team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to advise clients on complex matters such as sales tax, payroll, and financial transactions.
- High standards of integrity, along with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and meet deadlines.
- CPB certification is an asset.
