Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems for new and existing data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles, as well as several years'experience in design consulting for building systems.

Experience in critical sectors is considered an asset, including healthcare, utilities or defense. The candidate will work closely with the project manager to ensure that all design requirements are met.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with various codes and standards such as IEEE, CBC, RBQ, etc…, and should be a member of the OIQ, PEO or other Canadian engineering organization.

Candidates must be bilingual in French and English and have completed an ASP construction safety certification, or be willing to train with the company.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop mechanical designs for new projects and renovate existing projects as necessary.
  • Prepare mechanical drawings (plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, fuel systems and fire protection systems), specifications and project plans.
  • Prepare reports and calculations for loads, HVAC, etc.
  • Liaise with mechanical service providers such as Gaz Métro, Energir, Ville de Montréal for gas, sprinkler and water upgrades.
  • Other assigned responsibilities.
