Our client is  a leader in the landscaping industry, is seeking a talented Commercial Outside Sales Territory Manager for the NY Boroughs region. The ideal candidate will possess excellent sales and negotiation skills and a good business sense. They must be enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals with strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates need to have 3-5 years of successful sales experience in the specifying community and reside within the boroughs of the NY Metro area.

What You’ll Do:

       
               
  • Report to the Sales Manager, focusing on product specifications in the New York Metro and surrounding areas.
  •            
  • Create commercial sales through in-person interactions with the design and development communities.
  •            
  • Meet quarterly and annual sales targets as set by the Sales Manager.
  •            
  • Consult with engineering, architectural, and landscape architectural professionals in both the private and public sectors to develop specifications.
  •            
  • Manage and work with a customer base of commercial landscape contractors.
  •            
  • Organize and execute presentations to design professionals and business owners.
  •            
  • Advise design consultants in adequately selecting and specifying products with the correct technical support.
  •            
  • Assist designers and project management teams in generating their specification documents and technical drawings.
  •            
  • Collaborate with all Territory Managers in securing product specifications and sales.
  •            
  • Follow up, enter, and track projects in the CRM system from the early design stage through to final sale and installation of products.
  •            
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, attending seminars and conferences as offered.
  •            
  • Develop strong relationships with design professionals, national accounts, and commercial contractors.
  •            
  • Participate in scheduled local association trade shows and events.
  •            
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  •        
       

What You Need to Succeed:

       
               
  • Must reside within the boroughs of the NY Metro area.
  •            
  • 3-5 years of successful sales experience in the specifying community.
  •            
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably in a design capacity.
  •            
  • Knowledge of the commercial specification and construction process.
  •            
  • High sense of urgency and goal-driven with a need-to-win attitude.
  •            
  • Commitment to providing excellent client service.
  •            
  • Effective presentation and written communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking.
  •            
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn CRM Sales Software.
  •            
  • Sound critical thinking skills to effectively handle customer objections and questions.
  •            
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  •            
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (for whole product samples and mock-ups).
  •        
       

Salary: Up to $150K.
