Assistant Plant Manager

Our client, a prominent leader in the concrete and masonry manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled Assistant Plant Manager to enhance their team in Georgetown.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Plant Manager to drive operational excellence across all areas of the plant.
  • Formulate and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures in all tasks.
  • Oversee ongoing training and development of plant staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions for plant employees.
  • Adhere to the Total Quality Management program rigorously.
  • Conduct monthly and annual product testing, maintaining comprehensive records of test results.
  • Implement strategies to minimize defects, scrap, and seconds.
  • Regularly review production-related reports with supervisors.
  • Monitor daily production schedules in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Partner with supervisors to identify and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Perform inventory counts as necessary.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance action plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors.
  • Monitor and review costs while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage various reporting requirements and assist with the annual plant budget.
  • Be available for emergency breakdowns and on-call situations as needed.
  • Willingness to work additional hours to complete tasks as required.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned to support the organization’s ongoing needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of machine operations.
  • Familiarity with Preventive Maintenance Programs (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (OEE, 5S, etc.).
  • Proficient in business fundamentals, including planning, budgeting, and purchasing.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Proven capacity to train and motivate team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, driver, and background checks.
