Our client, a leader in custom manufacturing and packaging industry for chemical powdered and liquid detergents is looking for a talented Production Supervisor to join their team in Etobicoke.

General Job Description:

The Production Supervisor will direct, supervisor and coordinate staff and manufacturing in our powder detergent manufacturing plant. Ensure production, health and safety and quality standards are maintained. 

• Overall responsibility and accountability production operations
• Works closely with Sales and Scheduling to ensure that the plant is satisfying sales orders while maximizing operational efficiency
• Responsible for the health and safety of assigned employees and for the management of WSIB claims
• Responsible for training of plant personnel as required
• Responsible for quality
• Responsible for cost containment in accordance with budget constraints
• Works with staff, warehouse and plant personnel to constantly improve quality, safety and labour efficiency
• Develops SOPs to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the plant and warehouse
• Works with HR and plant personnel to ensure fairness and consistency and workplace harmony
• Makes recommendations on capital expenditures to advance the objectives of improving plant efficiency, reducing cost and improving H&S
• Must keep abreast of legal responsibilities of both supervisors and employees

Requirements:

• 3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience in an industrial setting
• Post-secondary science or engineering education
• Material handling experience
• Experience in a packaging, consumer goods or food industry will be an asset
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
