Mechanical and electrical engineer

Our client consulting engineering firm is seeking a Building Electrical Engineer with consulting engineering experience for its Laval office.

You will be responsible for actively managing the design of residential, commercial and institutional projects, both in the public sectors (schools, hospitals, office buildings, municipal buildings, swimming pools and cottages.

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise and carry out the design and installation of electrical systems (electrical distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarms and other related systems).
  • Develop technical concepts based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate technical teams in the search for solutions.
  • Conduct on-site surveys.
  • Supervise the preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical support to technicians, draftsmen and other engineers involved in projects.
  • Control and coordinate work in collaboration with other parties (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, etc.).
  • Prepare budget estimates and reports associated with plans and specifications.
  • Participate in site meetings.
  • Perform partial supervision of work.
Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (specializing in building) or in building engineering.
  • Permit as full-fledged engineer issued by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Mastery of standards in force in Quebec.
  • 5 years’ experience in consulting engineering or equivalent.
  • Team spirit, versatility, autonomy, and good communication skills.
  • Leadership and excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable standards and codes.
  • Strong command of spoken and written French; English preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
