Electromechanic

As an Electromechanic, you'll play a key role in the maintenance, repair and inspection of lifting equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that cranes and hoists operate optimally and safely at our customer's sites.

Main responsibilities:

  • Inspection and maintenance:

    • Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and electric hoists at various customer sites in accordance with company guidelines.
    • Be available for "on-call" interventions as part of the maintenance service rotation, including outside normal working hours if necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and repair:

    • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, structural and electronic faults on site.
    • Use appropriate test procedures and test equipment to identify causes of malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs.
    • Conduct a complete check after repairs to ensure that all safety features are operational, or document deficiencies and affix a defect label to the crane if necessary.
  • Documentation and communication:

    • Document observations and make corrective recommendations during safety reviews with customers, including the drafting of safety notifications for any problems observed.
    • Advise customers on repair and safety issues, and discuss recommendations to improve safety and productivity during site visit reviews.
    • Prepare and provide appropriate electronic documentation using the company's digital tools, including obtaining customer signature and acceptance.
  • Compliance and training:

    • Read, understand and apply the content of all relevant codes and regulations (CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI) and regularly update knowledge.
    • Attend monthly safety meetings and participate in any other required training.
  • Maintenance of equipment and vehicles:

    • Maintain all company equipment, vehicles and property in good working order.
    • Use tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
    • Report any defects to supervisor for resolution.
    • Ensure that vehicle and company uniforms are clean and presentable.
  • Logistical support:

    • Have a supply of forms, documentation, inventory and miscellaneous materials in the service vehicle and document their use or sale to the customer.
Profile

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in electromechanics or related field.
  • Previous experience in maintenance and repair of lifting equipment or in a similar role.
  • Solid skills in diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical and electronic problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license and availability for frequent travel.
