Building structural engineer

Our client located in Laval  is looking for a Building Structural Engineer with a solid background in consulting engineering to join its brand new office in the Laval area.

The selected candidate will play a key role in the active management of residential, commercial and institutional projects, in both the public and private sectors. If you are a team player and enjoy challenges, this position is for you!Main responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze various structures in steel, concrete or wood.
  • Supervise the creation of plans, approve and certify them.
  • Edit calculation notes, technical documents and drawings.
  • Elaborate specifications and define construction methods.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects and guarantee their viability.
  • Edit detailed technical reports.
  • Complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Conduct surveys and inspections of building structures.
  • Ensure effective communication with various stakeholders (customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors) throughout projects.
  • Supervise the completion of structural work during the construction phase.
  • Guarantee compliance with quality control standards for each project.
  • Support your colleagues in the various stages of projects.
  • Accomplish any other tasks related to the position.
  • Profile
    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (building structure option);
    • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a consulting engineering firm;
    • Excellent knowledge of Quebec standards and codes;
    • Ability to represent the company well to clients;
    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and work as part of a team;
    • Mastery of AutoCAD, knowledge of REVIT an asset;
    • Excellent command of spoken and written French, English an asset;
    • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
