Our client located in Laval  is looking for a Building Structural Engineer with a solid background in consulting engineering to join its brand new office in the Laval area.

The selected candidate will play a key role in the active management of residential, commercial and institutional projects, in both the public and private sectors. If you are a team player and enjoy challenges, this position is for you!Main responsibilities:

Design and analyze various structures in steel, concrete or wood.

Supervise the creation of plans, approve and certify them.

Edit calculation notes, technical documents and drawings.

Elaborate specifications and define construction methods.

Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects and guarantee their viability.

Edit detailed technical reports.

Complete projects on time and on budget.

Conduct surveys and inspections of building structures.

Ensure effective communication with various stakeholders (customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors) throughout projects.

Supervise the completion of structural work during the construction phase.

Guarantee compliance with quality control standards for each project.

Support your colleagues in the various stages of projects.

Accomplish any other tasks related to the position.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (building structure option);
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a consulting engineering firm;
• Excellent knowledge of Quebec standards and codes;
• Ability to represent the company well to clients;
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and work as part of a team;
• Mastery of AutoCAD, knowledge of REVIT an asset;
• Excellent command of spoken and written French, English an asset;
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
