Equipment Purchasing and Supply Agent MEP

The Position: As the MEP Equipment Procurement, Purchasing and Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in the process of acquiring and managing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) equipment, for new data center construction projects as well as the renovation of existing buildings.

This position requires a solid understanding of MEP systems and demonstrated procurement and logistics experience in the industrial construction sector. Experience in managing procurement projects with budgets ranging from $10 million to $300 million is a strong asset.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire MEP equipment procurement process, ensuring cost, quality and schedule optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers and project managers to ensure purchases meet technical specifications.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, while negotiating contracts and managing tenders.
  • Ensure compliance with current codes and standards for MEP equipment in partnership with internal design teams.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to arrange domestic and international transportation.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, including bills of materials, to stakeholders to track budgets and deadlines.
  • Assume other procurement and logistics responsibilities as required.

Travel Requirements : Occasional travel  within the US and EU may be required for supplier visits, plant visits or trade shows.

Profile

Qualifications Required:

  • Literacy of French and English.
  • Excellent knowledge of codes and standards such as IEEE, CBC, and RBQ.
  • Ideally, membership in OIQ, PEO or other Canadian engineering association.
  • Certificate in Construction Safety (ASP) or willingness to take training.
  • Ability to obtain a Federal Government Reliability Security Clearance.
  • Proven negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
